Hi! My name is Laney Gipson and I am a junior at Drury University. I had the incredible opportunity to serve in Kampala, Uganda in January of 2014. Those of y’all who know me, know that I have not been able to stop talking about this trip since the moment I arrived back on American soil. After many hopeful prayers, I have finally been given the chance to return this March, to spend my spring break loving on the kids who so effortlessly stole my heart one short year ago. Working alongside a team of fellow college students, I will serve with SOZO Ministries as they continue to change the lives of countless families and children throughout Uganda.

Our work will vary from day to day as we tend to the children in each of the homes, bring the gospel to the slums and villages throughout Kampala, and work in a variety of ways on The Village Project. We will also assist in chores around the house, lead bible studies, and work with the children on homework and other daily activities.

Upon leaving last January, I made the commitment to sponsor a little girl named Ritah. Through this sponsorship program, Ritah is provided with the means to meet all nutritional, educational, medical and housing needs. How sweet it will be to hold her in my arms and know that my life is far richer with her in it.

I am not asking for much, I just need your prayers. The beautiful thing about Africa is that while they may need us, I need them all the more. I hope that you will join me in praying for this trip and for my fellow team members as we get to spend 9 jam-packed, crazy days serving and loving hearts to Jesus from March 13th through the 22nd.

If you would like to help fund my trip, I promise I won’t say no.
Your prayers and donations mean the world to me.

Thank you so much.

ABOUT Uganda Mission - March 13th - March 22nd (2015)

Through short term missions, Sozo Children offers an avenue to those passionate to serve and be the hands and feet of Christ on the mission field. The teams will be traveling to Uganda to serve orphaned and neglected children while investing in the surrounding communities. They will each be stretched physically, spiritually, and emotionally while we explore the unique relationships found in the body of Christ.

Team members will be able to experience: doing life with our Sozo Children in all FOUR of our homes, assisting in daily chores and responsibilities at the houses, growing in relationship with each other, connecting with believers in the surrounding communities and ministering to families in a local village we work in called Ngongolo Village.
