God is so incredibly faithful. He is continually showing me that His plan is not only greater than mine, but it is incredibly more satisfying. Through closing doors, and opening new ones, God is proving to me that there is absolutely nothing that can separate us from His will. He has placed in front of me an opportunity that I never imagined would actually become tangible. 

    I will be spending two months this summer in Kampala, Uganda. I simply have no words to describe my excitement for what is to come. All I know is that I am overwhelmed and humbled by how gracious our God is. 

    I am learning that God’s plan does not require knowing all of the details. It simply requires that you walk by faith, and not by sight. This means to be obedient to what He is calling you to do, no questions asked. Often times, what God is calling you to is out of your comfort zone. This is not  to harm you, but to teach you, push you, allow you to grow, and show you that through Him, you are capable of much more than what your finite mind thinks. 

    I am expectant for this summer. It will be the longest time I have ever been away from any member of my family. This will break me, but show me how to live in complete dependence on God. I get the privilege of serving the families and children in Uganda and hope to experience God’s love in a whole new way. I get to serve and literally be the hands and feet of Jesus while being stretched mentally and physically. I will be broken and restored in so many different ways in hopes that in the end, I will come to know God more and fall in love with Him in a whole new way. 

    God is already breaking me of my pride, and teaching me that this life is, in fact, not about me. He is working on my selfishness showing me that everything I own is ultimately His. He is showing me how desperately I need Him and that my identity needs to be in Him and Him alone. I believe that the Lord wants me to experience His faithfulness by showing me that He will provide. He has already provided me with this opportunity, and now He wants me to depend on Him to fund this trip, keep me safe, and teach me how to truly life a life rooted in Him. 

So, I’ll give all I have just to know Him. Just to be closer to Him and to be His servant. More of God and less of me. I cannot wait to see His wonderful plan unfold! Thank you for walking with me through this season and for taking on this opportunity with me! Let’s all discover how faithful God is!

2015 Sozo Children Uganda Internship

Ephesians 4:1-6

"I therefore, a prisoner for the Lord, urge you to walk in a manner worthy of the calling to which you have been called, with all humility and gentleness, with patience, bearing with one another in love, eager to maintain the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace. There is one body and one Spirit—just as you were called to the one hope that belongs to your call— one Lord, one faith, one baptism, one God and Father of all, who is over all and through all and in all."

This year we are excited to offer an incredible opportunity to a passionate group of college students. During the summer of 2015, each intern will be traveling to Uganda to serve orphan and neglected children while investing in the surrounding communities. They will each be stretched physically, spiritually, and emotionally while we explore the unique relationships found  in the body of Christ. Regardless of background or titles we hold we are ONE in Jesus Christ. 

This summer each intern will be tasked with the following responsibilites: discipling our Sozo Children, assisting the Ugandan staff at home, growing in relationship with each other, connecting believers in the surrounding communities, working alongside Ugandans in community rehabilitiation efforts, growing the local church, and facilitating Sozo Children teams.
