Wow! I can not believe in a little more than four months I will be experiencing just how gracious our God is.  Myself, along with 14 other interns will be serving two months in Kampala, Uganda pouring out our love into the children at SOZO and working in the surrounding villages.  It seems sureal that a dream I have had for several years is becoming a reality.
 
As many of you know I have overcome many obstacles in my young life.  There were many times I thought about giving up fighting the fight.  In the last year, I have gotten so close to my Father, and he has revealed to me that giving up is not an option.  I am learning that God has a destiny for me, and I will continue to follow the  path that he has paved for me.  I have also learned that reaching out to my Father is the only way to live my life.  I am so excited and humbled that God is giving me this opportunity to share my story and minister to his children that with him leading the way you can overcome any obstacle in front of you.  Life is teaching me that sometimes you have got to fall before you can fly!
But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles: they shall run, and not be weary, and they shall walk, and  be faint.  Isaiah 40:31
 
In closing, I want to say, "My Father has revealed to me his natural beauty of nature." With my camera in hand, I have visited a place in Birmingham several times I call "Little Africa."  Little did I know that he was preparing me for an adventure that would take me to a place called "Africa."

2015 Sozo Children Uganda Internship

Ephesians 4:1-6

"I therefore, a prisoner for the Lord, urge you to walk in a manner worthy of the calling to which you have been called, with all humility and gentleness, with patience, bearing with one another in love, eager to maintain the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace. There is one body and one Spirit—just as you were called to the one hope that belongs to your call— one Lord, one faith, one baptism, one God and Father of all, who is over all and through all and in all."

This year we are excited to offer an incredible opportunity to a passionate group of college students. During the summer of 2015, each intern will be traveling to Uganda to serve orphan and neglected children while investing in the surrounding communities. They will each be stretched physically, spiritually, and emotionally while we explore the unique relationships found  in the body of Christ. Regardless of background or titles we hold we are ONE in Jesus Christ. 

This summer each intern will be tasked with the following responsibilites: discipling our Sozo Children, assisting the Ugandan staff at home, growing in relationship with each other, connecting believers in the surrounding communities, working alongside Ugandans in community rehabilitiation efforts, growing the local church, and facilitating Sozo Children teams.
