Welcome, friends!

My name is Halli Williamson. I am a 21-year old college student who likes coffee and journaling. I love getting to know people, and building relationships. But most of all, I am passionately in love with a person named Jesus. My personal story is one of rescue and redemption, time and time again. What I love about Jesus is that he meets us right in the midst of our brokenness, his grace colliding with our sin. For me, he took the ruins that resulted from my sin, and created something so beautiful, an entirely new creation. He called me out of darkness and into his light, and day by day, he has begun to lead me into his purpose and his plan for my life.

This is where I invite you to join in.

I first heard about Sozo Children a few months ago, through what I can only describe as a divine encounter. When I learned about this internship opportunity, I knew that this was a step that God was calling me to pursue. God began to give me a heart for Africa (even Uganda specifically!) while I was at the Passion Conference a few years ago. It's so amazing to me that our Father does not leave our hearts unfulfilled. Someone very close to me told me once that God will not call us to something and not give us time to complete it. So, I was absolutely ecstatic when I received the invitation to join Sozo and the team in Uganda this summer. It is an honor to accept this opportunity, and to step in faith to live out this season of God's story for me.

But the truth is, this story is really not about me at all. It is about God; it is his story and his kingdom, and I just get to be a part of it.

So, friends, I need your help. I’d like to invite you to partner alongside me. I need your prayers over the nation of Uganda, and over every child, adult, and family that we will encounter during our time there. I need your prayers for my team and I as we get to know one another and as we seek to serve each other and to follow Jesus together. And finally, I need your prayers for myself. Pray that the Lord would fill me with the heart of a servant, that he would give me eyes to see the world around me differently, and that he would open my heart to love and to be loved in a supernatual way this summer.

I also need financial support. The goal is high, but nothing is impossible with our God. I know that his provision is before me, and that all of my days have already been written in his book (Psalm 139:16). Would you prayerfully consider supporting me as I walk forward on this journey?

If you would like to make a donation, you can do so using the resources on this page, or by contacting me directly at halliuab@gmail.com. I would love to hear from you!

Thank you for taking the time to invest in my story. Let’s stand together in freedom and joy as we watch God unravel the incredible adventure that’s ahead!

Grace upon grace to you.

ABOUT Internship 2015

2015 Sozo Children Uganda Internship

Ephesians 4:1-6

"I therefore, a prisoner for the Lord, urge you to walk in a manner worthy of the calling to which you have been called, with all humility and gentleness, with patience, bearing with one another in love, eager to maintain the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace. There is one body and one Spirit—just as you were called to the one hope that belongs to your call— one Lord, one faith, one baptism, one God and Father of all, who is over all and through all and in all."

This year we are excited to offer an incredible opportunity to a passionate group of college students. During the summer of 2015, each intern will be traveling to Uganda to serve orphan and neglected children while investing in the surrounding communities. They will each be stretched physically, spiritually, and emotionally while we explore the unique relationships found  in the body of Christ. Regardless of background or titles we hold we are ONE in Jesus Christ.

This summer each intern will be tasked with the following responsibilites: discipling our Sozo Children, assisting the Ugandan staff at home, growing in relationship with each other, connecting believers in the surrounding communities, working alongside Ugandans in community rehabilitiation efforts, growing the local church, and facilitating Sozo Children teams.
